SAY SOMETHING - A Great Big World
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tabbed by: Michael Gilbert

Tuning: Drop D (lowest pitch to highest: DADGBe)
Tune so that the following two notes sound the same:
e|---|B|---|G|---|D|---|A|-0-|D|-7-|
It's a very simplistic song, adding more to the message that it has. Personally, I think
the duet with Christina Aguilera diminishes the impact of the song concerning its
message in comparison to the original with one vocalist, but that's just one person's opinion.
To help sing along with the song while playing, think of the beats between each strum of
D on the B-string (3rd fret) in 3/4 time, with emphasis on the first beat. I'll give an
example using tildes and (beat #s) to signify the beats of the imaginary 3/4 time within
the real time signature (if that makes no sense, just disregard the numbers in parenthesis):
(1) (2) (3) (1) (2) (3) (1) (2) (3) (1) (2) (3) (1) (2).. Say some- thing I'm giv - ing up on you ...e|--~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~---|--~-----~...B|--3-----~-----~-----3-----~-----~-----3-----~-----~-----3-----~-----~---|--3-----~...G|--~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~---|--~-----~...D|--~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~---|--~-----~...A|--2-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~---|--~-----~...D|--~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~-----5-----~-----~-----~-----~-----~---|--0-----~...
It should be relatively easy to incorporate the "imaginary 3/4 time" with the real time
signature as the song's bpm (beats per minute) < 60. For those who don't like the D
droning the whole time, you can throw in a C# or E just before the next beat of the
droning D if you want a bit of a change without losing the effectiveness of the song.

If there is enough demand, I will edit so that the whole tab includes words on top of
the tabbing, like in the example at the top but without the beat indicators.
