I figured this out from Dave's VH1 Story Tellers performance with Tim.
Dave plays the tab below while Tim does what he does best,
making nosies you never thought could hear out a guitar and
blends them nicely into the backround.

In the Lillywhite version of this song there is a big jam,
use the D chord on the 5th fret and play around up there.
