Ella Mae Bowen – Holding Out For A Hero chords ver. 5
Chords:
Holding Out For A Hero- Ella Mae Brown Tuning: C#, G#, C#, F#, A#, D# Drop D and Half-Step down Tabbed By: Danny North Email: dnorth2@hotmail.com This is my first tab! But as far as I can hear, this is correct! THIS is the tuning. No capo fret 5, nor 1 nor WHATEVER ELSE. There’s a clear C# base note throughout the song! Yes, it’s a little annoying tuning, but this is how you do the real deal. In the Intro, Guitar 1 would be playing the “Intro Riff” and Guitar 2 plays the chords- Also, when Guitar 2 starts playing on the “G”s in the intro, it strums it once then hits the harmonics on the base strings on fret 5 then continues strumming. Listen to the song well to get what I mean. (For a lack of knowledge of these Chord names, I simplified them to their base note representation) Also, there's a heavy emphasis on the base notes of each chord, so if you want to even ignore the last ones it'll still sound fine)G A D D# Bm A*--x-- --0-- --2-- --x-- --2-- --x-- --x-- --0-- --3-- --x-- --3-- --x-- --4-- --2-- --2-- --x-- --4-- --x-- --5-- --2-- --0-- --2-- --4-- --7-- --x-- --0-- --0-- --2-- --2-- --7-- --5-- --x-- --0-- --2-- --x-- --7--[Intro] G A G D |---------------|--------------------|---------------|-------------------||---3-2---------|---3-2--------------|---3-2---------|--5-3--------------||--2-----2/4----|--2-----4/6-----4-6-|--2-----2/4----|--------2------2---||---------------|--------------------|---------------|-------------4-----||---------------|--------------------|---------------|-------------------||---------------|--------------------|---------------|-------------------|[Verse]G D Where have all the good men gone And where are all the gods?G A Where's the street-wise Hercules To fight the rising odds?G D Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed?G D#(HOLD) Late at night I toss and turn and dream of what I need[Chorus]Bm G D A*I need a hero- I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the nightBm G D A*He's gotta be strong, he's gotta be fast and he's gotta be fresh from the fightBm G D A*I need a hero- I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning lightBm G D A*He's gotta be sure, he's gotta be soon and he's gotta be larger than lifelarger than life- [Interlude]Bm G D A*Da da da da da da da da, da da da da da daBm G D A*Da da da da da da da da, da da da da da da[Verse]G D Somewhere after midnight in my wildest fantasyG D Somewhere just beyond my reach there's someone reaching back for meG A Racing on the thunder and rising with the heatG D# (HOLD) isn’t there a superman to sweep me off my feet[Chorus]Bm G D A*I need a hero- I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the nightBm G D A*He's gotta be strong, he's gotta be fast and he's gotta be fresh from the fightBm G D A*I need a hero- I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning lightBm G D A*He's gotta be sure, he's gotta be soon and he's gotta be larger than life[Bridge]D# GUp where the mountains meet the heavens above, out where the lightning splits the seaD# A*(HOLD)I could swear that there's someone somewhere, watching meD# GThrough the wind and the chill and the rain, and the storm and the floodD# A*(HOLD)I can feel his approach like the fire in my blood[Chorus]Bm G D A*I need a hero- and then we’ll dance till the morning lightBm G D A*Dreaming He’ll lead me, held tight, tonight’s the nightBm G D A*I need a hero- I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the nightBm G D A*He's gotta be strong, he's gotta be fast and he's gotta be fresh from the fightBm G D A*I need a hero- I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning lightBm G D A*He's gotta be sure, he's gotta be soon and he's gotta be larger than lifelarger than lifeBm G D A*Da da da da da da da da, da da da da da da(Larger Than Life)Bm G D A*Da da da da da da da da, da da da da da da(Larger Than Life)Bm G D A*Da da da da da da da da, da da da da da da(Oh Maybe, Maybe Tonight)Bm G D A*Da da da da da da da da, da da da da da da
