I play this in Gm, putting a capo on 3rd fret. Works fine in other keys, just move capo
to suit your voice/accompaniment :O)
To get the feel of how to play it, check out Jimmy MacCarthy playing this on The Late
Late Show on YouTube.
The "=" means slide the note (I don't know the correct tab symbol!)
The tab below details the intro and is repeated at various points through the song,
including at the end.

The lyrics are (with chord shapes relative to capo, not absolute):
[Intro picking, as above], then:
Em C
True, you ride the finest horse
(C) D
I've ever seen
(D)
Standing sixteen-one, or two
Em
With eyes so wild and green
And you ride the horse so well
Hands light to the touch
I could never go with you
No matter how I wanted to
*Chorus*
You ride on
See you
I could never go with you
No matter how I wanted to
As you ride into the night
Without a trace behind
Run your claw along my gut
One last time
I turn to face the empty space
Where once you used to lie
And look for the spark to light the night
Through the teardrop in my eye
*Chorus* x2
(Alternately, the word "smile" is used instead of "spark")
