Lyrics:
Crawl across towards your window, I'm calling softly from the street
I'm just a lonely widow, half awake and stranded on my feet
I'm of age but have no children, no quarter phone booth call to home
Just late night television, inside my bedroom all alone.
There is no use in waiting, offer up your steps so I can climb
Show me all your figure paintings, etched in the middle of the night
Let me stretch upon your carpet, let me hear the rain tap on your street
Knowing I am safe on the inside, blankets wrapped and drifting off to sleep.
Outro:
e|------------------------------------------|B|------------------------------------------|G|------------------------------------------|D|------0--------0--------0--------0--------|A|----6---6----4---4----2---2----4---4------|E|--7--------5--------3--------5------------|In the middle of a dream I hear you calling....
NOTE: If you play the outro all 3 frets up (with a capo on the 3rd fret) it's the same
the main riff, but the way i have tabbed the main riff here is the only way i can see to
you to play the whole song on guitar, in the right key, without taking the capo off
through. This version sounds right when you play it along with the song, too.
