The famous quo-sound is based on the power chord. The powerchord is a triad without a
third. So it's actually an interval. The interval (called perfect fifth) is formed by
two notes which are seven half steps (or five scale steps) apart. The distance from C
up to G is a perfect fifth, as shown below. The chordname may be abbreviated to C5.

Place your first finger on the E-string and your third finger on the A-string. Thisis a moveable pattern.
