Strokes
Welcome to Japan
Comedown Machine
Obviously the Strokes have two guitars but I can't defferenciate between the
two so i'll just tab it as one.
I guess if you wanted to play two parts the other guitar could harmonize.
For the intro and verse they just use the power chords of d, g#, g and c.
v = vibrato bend
b = full bend
r = return bend
t = tremolo
s = slide
# = mute the string with your fret hand
* = Palm mute
+ = harmonic
Intro : x1Use up strokes on the higher notes and palm muted pick strokes on the bass note D D G# e|--------------------------------------------------------------------|B|--------------------------------------------------------------------|G|-----7--7----7v----------7----7-------------------------------------|D|-----7--7----7v----------7----7--------6-6-6------------------------|A|--5*------5*---------5*----5*---5------6-6-6------------------------|E|---------------------------------------4-4-4------------------------|

Verse :
The first half of the verse is the same as the intro...
Intro x1 palm muted
"If we don't watch the sun
It will rise
If we don't take our time
It's not wise"
Intro x1 no longer palm muted
"Putting posters up
For your band (Hey, we're playing ... come by)
Now I'll tear them down
With my hand"
Pre-chorus :
This part is palm muted and tremolo picked. Do this 8 times.

Solo :Here's the fun part. In this part there is a note played where I have marked the fret hand
mutes, but I couldn't figure it out so it is open to your interpretation.
I just use 12 on the D string or just mute the G as I play.

If you want to figure out the end bit then be my guest ha.
You did it alone
You did it for fun
You did it for everyone who's on the run
You're not just a friend
You'll be born again
We'll be in this race until the very end
He lives on the phone
He cheats on his clone
You'll never believe me 'til you're on your own
