Tom Petty – Have Love Will Travel tab

One of the better songs on "The Last DJ." I don't have any of the soloing, but the bulk 
the song is here. And the chord placements will match the timing with the lyrics, which 
is always nice, I think.

A quick word on the four chord progression that is played right before and during the 
bridge -- you can play it as open chords, but I like to play it like this:

e---3/5--5/7--7--5---|B---5/7--7/8--8--7---|G---5/7--7/9--9--7---|D---5/7--7/9--9--7---|A---3/5--5/7--7--5---|E--------------------|

It just sounds more like the recording to me, especially with the slides. Also, you can 
mess around by picking the verse chords a bit. The most frequent example of this in the song 
sounds something like this:
