your fretting hand (left if you're right handed and vice versa), put your pinky or ring finger on the seventh fret on the D-string, whichever you find most comfortable. Put your index finger on the fifth fret on the G-string. After the first chord, you've let go of your index finger, leaving the index finger and the middle finger free for the bass line.
