Thank you.G D GDear Sir I write this note to you to tell you of my plightC G DFor at the time of writing it I'm not a pretty sightC G D C My body is all black and blue, my face a deathly greyG C D GAnd I write this note to say why I am not at work todayG D GWhile working on the fourteenth floor some bricks I had to clearC G DBut tossing them down from such a height was not a good ideaC G D CThe foreman wasn't very pleased he is an arkward sodG C D GAnd he said I had to cart them down the ladders in me hodG D GWell clearing all these bricks by hand it was so very slowC G DSo I hoisted up a barrel and secured a rope belowC G D CBut in me haste to do the job, I was to blind to seeG C D GThat a barrel full of building bricks was heavier than meG D GAnd so when I untied the rope the barrel fell like leadC G DAnd clinging tightly to the rope I started up insteadC G D CI shot up like a rocket, and to my dismay I foundG C D GThat halfway up I met the bloody barrel coming downG D GWell the barrel broke me shoulder as to the ground it spedC G DAnd when I reached the top I banged the pulley with me headC G D CBut I clung on tightly numb with shock from this almighty blowG C D GWhile the barrel spilled out half it's bricks some fourteen floors belowG D GWhen these bricks had fallen from the barrel to the floorC G D I then outweighed the barrel and so started down once moreC G D C But I clung on tightly to the rope me body racked with painG C D GAnd halfway down I met the bloody barrel once againG D GNow the force of this collision halfway down the office blockC G DCaused multiple abrasions and a nasty case of shockC G D CBut I clung on tightly to the rope as I fell towards the groundG C D GAnd I landed on the broken bricks the barrel had scattered round.G D GNow as I lay there on the ground I thought I'd passed the worstC G DBut the barrel hit the pulley wheel and then the bottom burstC G D CA shower of bricks rained down on me I didn't have a hopeG C D GAs I lay there bleeding on the ground I let go of the bloody ropeG D GThe barrel now being heavier so started down once moreC G DIt landed right across me as I lay there on the floorC G D CIt broke three ribs and my left arm and I can only sayG C D GI hope you`ll understand why I am not at work today
