This might just be the greatest dumb garage-rock song ever written.
Sometimes you hear people talk about 'believing in rock n' roll'. You
have to beleive in something to sing this song with a straight face. I
prefer to sing it with an adolescent snarl.
SHAKE SOME ACTION
Jordan/Wilson
recorded by The Flamin' Groovies, 1976
|:A Bm |G Bm |A Bm |G Bm :|
|:A |G |D |A :|
Bm A D Dsus D
I will find a way
Bm A D Dsus D
To get to you some day.
G A D Dsus D
Oh, but I, babe, I'm so afraid I'll fall, yeah.
G A Bm A
Now can't you hear me call?
A Bm G Bm A Bm
Shake some action's what I need
G Bm A Bm
To let me bust out at full speed.
G Bm A G
I'm sure that's all you need
D
To make it all right.
|A |G |D |A |
It's taken me so long
To get where I belong
Oh, but, oh, please don't send me back that way, yeah.
For I will make you pay.
(refrain)
(guitar solo over:
|:Bm |G |D |A |Bm |G |D |A :|
|:A |G |D |A :|
If you don't dig what I say
Then I will go away.
And I won't come back this again. No.
'Cause I don't need a friend.
(refrain)
(guitar solo again)
