Judy Collins – The Blizzard chords

Chords:
Transpose:
I've looked everywhere for this song and can't find it, so I finally gave up and
figured it out myself. She usually plays it on piano, so I figured it out that way
first and then tried it on guitar to see if it still sounded OK. I think it works.
If I missed something, please let me know.

Capo I

C G F CColorado, Colorado
C F C FWhen the world leaves you shivering
F GAnd the blizzard blows
C G F CWhen the snow flies and the night falls
AmThere's a light in the window
F GAnd a place called home
F AmAt the end of the storm
Am One night on the mountain I was headed for Estes
F GWhen the roads turned to ice and it started to snow
Am Put on the chains in a whirl of white powder
F GHalfway up to Berthoud near a diner I know
CAnd the light burned inside, shining down through the snowfall
G F GGod, it was cold, and the temperature droppin'
CWent in for coffee and I shivered as I drank it
G FWarming my hands in the steam as it rose
AmSitting there at the counter was a dark-headed stranger
Am F GMe and the owner and him keeping warm
AmNodded hello and I said, "It's a cold one.
Am F GLooks like there might be a blizzard tonight,"
CAnd "Yes," said the owner, "There's a big storm on the mountain.
G F GGood thing we're open; we could be here for hours.
CThere's nothing for miles, and it's too late to get to Denver.
G F GBetter not try for the summit tonight."
C GAnd the snow fell
F CAnd the night passed
C F AmAnd I talked to the strangers
Am F G AmAs the blizzard blew
AmMe and the stranger, you know I don't talk to strangers
F G I'm a private sort of person, but a blizzard is a blizzard
Am And somehow I found myself saying you'd left me
F GTelling him everything I wanted to say to you.
CYou know how it is when you can talk to a stranger
G F G Someone you're quite sure you'll never see again
CSoon we were talkin' and laughin' and drinkin'.
G F GHe said, "You must know you're too good for him."
C GAnd the snow fell
F CAnd the night passed
C F AmAnd I talked to the strangers
Am F G AmAnd the blizzard blew
AmThe stranger said, "Love, it can cry you a river.
Am F GMe, I'm a loner, 'cause I can't take the heartache.
AmSometimes I'm a fighter when I get too much whiskey.
Am F G Here, have a little whiskey; pretend you don't give a damn.
CMy cabin's up here on the side of the mountain.
G F GYou can go up there and sleep through the blizzard."
CI put on my parka, said goodbye to the owner,
G F C Followed the stranger through the snow up the mountainside.
AmWoke in the morning to the sun on the snow
Am F GMy car was buried in six feet of snowdrift
AmThey dug me out, just the owner and the stranger
Am F GSent me on my way when the snowplow had been by
CAnd the roads were all clear, and the sun on the mountains
G F GSparkled like diamonds on the Peak-to-Peak Highway
CThen I knew that I would get over you
Dm G CKnew you could leave me, but you'd never break me
C G F CColorado, Colorado
C F C FWhen the world leaves you shivering
GAnd the blizzard blows
C G F CWhen the snow flies and the night falls
FThere's a light in the window
Dm GAnd a place called home
F CAt the end of the storm
